Support Ryan!

Good Morning Friends,

We had a lovely Mother's Day weekend.  However, we didn't get to visit our son, Kevin and family.  Ryan had to have his port-a-cath line pulled Saturday and now has a pic-line in his arm for a while.  I talked to Ryan and he is such a trooper.  He is not necessarily happy about the line change but says, "it's OK".

We are very excited and expecting a visit next weekend.  The boys want to squirrel hunt and fish and just do some general exploring in the creek bed.

Saturday morning we will go to the Car and Motorcycle show where some 4-H groups are selling breakfast treats and the Falls Community Hospital and Clinic will be selling sausage wraps.

I wanted to tell you about another event.  A very generous group has designed Tshirts to SUPPORT RYAN! and you will find the shop button  below as well as other pages on  the site.  I have already tried it out and purchased myself a Tshirt.  I received the notification that it will ship today and I'm hoping that I get it by Saturday so I can wear it to the events.  So here it is.......click to buy.

The Garage Sale was HUGE!!!!!

Good Morning Friends,

How exciting it is to know what generous and wonderful folk live in Round Rock!

The Boy Scouts Pack 174 held their huge neighborhood garage sale this past weekend and raised $2,997.76.  You know you can't have a garage sale without a garage and Quida Kammer so generously helped the scouts organize the sale and held it in her garage.

Thank you Quida and boys!  What a fabulous job you did.

WOW!! We love our community! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

What a great community we live in!  We just got home from dinner at Applebee's Restaurant and we just wanted to say 'WOW' for the great turnout/support.  The Manager said they were so busy that he was going to extend it another day or two so people could come back to eat since the wait was so long and the kitchen was so backed up.  Wow!

THANK YOU so very much to all our friends, family, and everyone else that just wanted to support Ryan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There are so many loving, caring people in our community and words can't express how much you all mean to us.

Another shout out goes to our Scouts - Pack 174 for the great neighborhood garage sale they held this past Sat.  It was a huge success and we appreciate all your hard work, dedication and support.  Thanks again!!

Love, Kristi, Kevin, Zackary and Ryan

Ryan's Update on 4-4-10

HAPPY EASTER to all our family and friends!!

The last few weeks have been good for Ryan.  He finished his IV antibiotics on 3-31-10 for the infection he had.  We have enjoyed a great Easter weekend with a day trip to Nonnie's and The Slab.  Too cold to swim but fished and caught 2 small baby turtles.  Then, unfortunately, we got a call today from the MD that his recent blood cultures are positive.  We are starting back on the IV meds tonight and just praying that they will work this time around.  I'm sure the MD will want him on the med for a couple of weeks again.  If this doesn't work this time around, we will be forced to discuss pulling this IV line and replacing with a new one which means a few more day surgeries.  Please pray that we successfully get rid of this infection and move on without further trouble.  We'll update later....

Ryan's hospital stay (3/14/10 - 3/17/10)

Ryan has been in the hospital now for 3 days with a line/blood infection.  We first realized something was going on this past Sat. (March 13, 2010) when he woke up with a fever.  Knowing that we were planning on leaving for our spring break ski trip to Ruidoso the next day, we decided to go to ER for blood work.  Well, after 11 or 12 hours there, we went home Sat. night.  Then on Sunday the MD called and said his blood work was positive and we must bring him in to stay.  There went our ski trip....we were all very bummed but of course it was more important to get him well.  After many changes to medicine and lots of lab work, we broke Ryan out of jail (aka hospital) today.  He has been fever free for several days now and feeling much, much better.  It looks like the meds are really working.  It feels great to be home for all of us.  We will have a crazy schedule for next 10 or so due to medicine regime but that's okay...we will deal.  As for the ski trip, we re-scheduled for New Year's Eve week so that should be alot of fun.  Now we just need to salvage the rest of our spring break and do something fun with the kids...just close to home.

Well, thanks for everyone's prayers...it's greatly appreciated.  Keep u posted...love, Kristi

Innocence

This morning I ran across this picture of Ryan.  The first thought that popped into my head was "innocent".  This picture was taken in 2008 and Ryan, brother, cousin and friends were celebrating at a game place.  Ryan was clowning in all the pictures except this one. I have included them all in a photo album and when you view them, you will get a good impression of what Ryan is all about.  At his best, he demands attention; and gets it even if he has to resort to this "innocent" look.

But I could not get the "innocent" thought out of my mind.  I kept thinking how Ryan is so innocent............
